Be Still - 2016

Happy New Year! 5 Days in... that is.

I have never set a theme or a word for myself before... well, I tried to last year, but I kinda forgot it after the first week of the year. This year, I want to do exactly that, and I want to stick to it... I will stick to it.

My theme for 2016 is... Be Still.

"Be still and know that I am God." - Psalm 46:10

2016 is going to be a big year for me. I am getting married, moving permanently out of my parents home, traveling, starting a new life with my husband, and whatever other adventures await us.

In all the craziness that is sure to ensue this year, I don't want to lose sight of why I'm even on this earth. I don't want to forget to take time to abide in the Lord and allow Him to lead my path instead of me trying to pave my own way. I don't want to get so caught up in what I'm doing that I forget to seek Him first, in everything that I do.

My theme for this year is "be still" because I want to remember to be still and know that He is God. Be still and know that His plans are greater than my own. Be still and know that even when I can't see the next step, He's already planned the staircase. Be still and know that when I am weak, He is strong. Be still and know that when I can't, He can.

When I get anxious and stressed, He will be my peace.

Be still, abide, rest in Him... because He knows better than I.

That's my theme for 2016, and I am so excited.

What about you? What is your theme or some goals for 2016?
