USA Travel Bucket List Top 5

TravelKaycie Vanden TopComment

Hello Hello!

My inner wanderlust is kicking again lately, and I just want to go see places all over the world. Asa and I are going to Cancun in July for our honeymoon and I am absolutely itching with excitement to leave the country again and experience a new place!

Something I have been realizing lately, however, is that there are so many places right here in America that I still want to experience. I feel like I haven't seen a lot of what America has to offer outside of the north east and mid atlantic. I've been to the midwest to visit family, but even there, I have so much left to explore.

Inspired by that recent revelation, I give you, the top 5 places on my USA travel bucket list! :)

1. San Fransisco

It could be the reincarnation of Full House that comes out on Netflix on Friday that has me anxious to go to San Fransisco or it could just be all the pretty pictures that I keep seeing of it. Either way, every time I see a picture of the Golden Gate Bridge, The Painted Ladies, Coit Tower or Lombard Street, I am filled with a great desire to visit this beautiful city and see everything that it has to offer. Plus, I've never been to the west coast, so this would be a good place to start.

2. Disney World

Perhaps this one is a little cliche, but hey... I've never been to Disney World. I love Disney everything, and I absolutely cannot wait to experience Disney World for the first time. I want to go to Cinderella's castle, meet the disney princesses, take a picture with Mickey & Minnie, visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, etc. Not to mention Florida beaches. I want to be a kid for a week or so! :) Asa and I are trying to decide whether to go here or San Fransisco for our one year anniversary.

3. Mackinac Island, Michigan

You're probably thinking, where? Mackinac Island is a little island at the very top of the Michigan glove. It's close to Canada, actually. Every picture I see of this little island makes it look like it's the cutest place ever to visit. There are little shops all over, and you can rent bicycles to ride all over the island. The island offers amazing views, and I just think it would be a pretty cool place to visit. Plus, a girl I knew in college got engaged on this island and it was like something from a dream... so there's that.

4. Key West, Florida

Need I say more? Now, I know that I am going to be getting amazing beaches when we go to Cancun, but I think we sometimes need to be reminded that we have some incredible Caribbean-like beaches right here in America. Key West is beautiful and as close to Caribbean as you can get in America. Speaking of that, the southern most point in the continental USA is in Key West, and I think that would be pretty darn cool to visit. The only downside, getting there. Ahem, I hate bridges.

5. New York City

Now, this one is sort of cheating. I've actually already been to New York City twice, but they were both day trips and everyone knows you cannot see everything New York City has to offer in just two days. Especially when those two days are ten years apart. I'm pretty antsy to take a long weekend (or longer) trip to New York City and experience it more fully. I want to go to a broadway show, visit central park, visit the 9/11 memorial, walk on the Brooklyn Bridge, visit the Top of the Rock, take a ferry to the Statue of Liberty, walk the high line, eat real New York City pizza, and bagels, and cheesecake, visit Times Square again at midnight, and everything else that there is to do in NYC.

Well, there you have it! Those are the top five places in America that I want to see and experience!

What about you? Where have you visited in America that I should go too? Where would you like to visit?
